WORLD HEALTH INSTITUTE

Our mission is to improve the health and wealth of the people in Eurasian Region through research. In a rapidly changing world that comes with many unforeseen challenges, the need for health workers increases more and more each day. The world population is growing and by 2030 will grow to around 8.5 billion. Other demographic shifts, a rise in polluting compounds, and more unpredictable natural disasters are driving an alarming increase in the number and types of illnesses we have today. Add to that a pandemic, and humanity is in dire need for a stronger, faster and better care and management of infectious diseases than ever before. More highly-qualified public health professionals will be key to us realising a healthier tomorrow. These are the people implementing educational programmes, recommending policies, administering services and conducting research in this science and art of preventing disease. They are just as crucial as nurses who, alongside doctors, primarily focus on caring and treating individuals who are sick or injured.

The WHI Research reviews important new research as soon as it is published. We cut through the hype regarding various medical treatments to let you know what is proven and what is unknown about the risks and benefits of various treatment options. We do not accept funding from the companies that make medical products, so you can trust that our information is based on science, and not biased by financial ties to the treatments we’re evaluating.

Keeping your child safe and healthy partly depends on keeping them away from harmful habits and behaviors, including smoking, alcohol, violence, and sexual activities that can harm them.

We scrutinize the latest research and cut through the hype. We keep information from studies and reports up on our website as long as they are accurate and useful. Sometimes the best studies are a few years old.
